Underneath all the technology we have devised, we remain human beings. We are organic, subjective, emotional, cultural, symbolic animals. I look for books from multiple genres that help guide my quest to understand how our humanity survives - and even thrives - in the context of our emergence into a digital, commercial society. I seek to apply these insights to methods of deep market research that, using qualitative techniques, gather thick description rather than big data.
